His parents were married on 5 May 1903 in Shelby, Ohio - Richland County. As reported in the Daily Globe Newspaper: A very pretty wedding occurred at the parish church Tuesday morning at half past 8 o'clock, the contracting parties being Norman Tripp of Auglaize county and Miss Katie Rondy of the Settlement. Miss Xenia Rondy, sister of the bride, acted as bridesmaid and Mr. Cline of St. Mary's as best man. The bride was beautifully attired in white and carried cream colored roses. After the ceremony they were accompanied to the home of the bride's parents by relatives and friends where a bountiful wedding feast was prepared. The happy couple then left for their future home near St. Mary's, Auglaize County. Below you will see the wedding photo for Catherine A. (Katie) Tripp

John was the fifth child of Norman Patrick Tripp and Catherine A. (known as Katie) Rondy.
