Todays pictures show Mom and Tim admiring the catch of the day. I am not sure as to which kind of fish this is (some of you will probably know). I do remember that at times someone would catch a "Dog fish" as exciting as they were to catch, they were worthless when it came to preparing and eating them. This was a true statement unless you were mom's friend Marie Schimdtz. Marie and her husband Andy were long time friends of mom and dad and had a very large farm on County Road T about two miles from our house in Metamora. Andy and Marie were frequent recipients of mom and dad's fishing expeditions to Lake LeAnn.

It would be another ten years before the family would build a cottage at Lake LeAnn. But this did not interfear with the entertainment that the family drew from this beautiful spot in southern Michigan. Most of us enjoyed fishing, but that was by no means the only activity available to us. There were play grounds, a great hill to sled ride on and shout out onto the lake before spending the next fifteen minutes returning to the top of the hill, swimming, boating and even a golf course (which dad enjoyed very much).
